Flyball Play Day at the UC Davis Picnic Day on Saturday, April 16th!

If you’re interested in joining us for the demo, please RSVP to info@bayracers.com by Friday, April 1st. Include the number of 4-dog teams (with rough seed times), single or double teams, and green dogs. We’ll schedule both head to head racing and blocks of practice time as we have in the past.

Picnic Day Details: http://picnicday.ucdavis.edu/content/information-campus-groups

Flyball Details:
Time – Racing from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm

The rules:
This is a great opportunity for training, so we will allow you to use any props you want in your racing lane. There will be fencing around most of the ring. We’ll also have flexi-gates that can be used between the lanes. However, if you have a dog that is likely to cross over, please be considerate and either run it without a team in the other lane or find out if the team you are racing against has a bomb-proof dog. As this is a public event and flyball is on display, please use positive training methods and language appropriate for a family audience.

What to bring:
The usual stuff you need at tournaments. There are food trucks scattered around campus for lunch or bring your own.

What about rain?
We may not be able to give people much notice since we’ll be driving up that morning and won’t know the field conditions until we get there. Please provide one phone number for your club and we’ll call if we get rained out. we’ll rely on that person to inform the rest of your club

Flyball Demonstration at the Cow Palace 2011

Helped out by our friends in Mad Dogs and Pawdemonium, we put on four shows at the big AKC Golden Gate Kennel Club dog show at the Cow Palace in January. We had large audiences at every show, and all the dogs did great! A spectator sent us links to some videos:

Height Dog Challenge (Josie vs. Flash)

and I took a few photos with my phone.
