Our Racing Above The Bay 2009 tournament will be held on August 8th and 9th at the California State University, East Bay campus in Hayward, CA.

• Burning Dog 2009 on September 19th & 20th @ Rock Park in Sparks, NV

If you’re interested in joining us for the demo, please RSVP to KarenEGreen@sbcglobal.netby Friday, April 3rd. Include the number of 4-dog teams (with rough seed times) as well as approximate number of green dogs. We’ll schedule both head to head racing and blocks of practice time as we have in the past.

Flyball Details–
Time- Racing from 10a-4p (or so)

The rules–
This is a great opportunity for training, so we will allow you to use any props you want in your racing lane. There will be fencing around most of the ring. We’ll also have flexi-gates that can be used between the lanes. However, if you have a dog that is likely to cross over, please be considerate and either run it without a team in the other lane or find out if the team you are racing against has a bomb-proof dog. As this is a public event and flyball is on display, please use positive training methods and language appropriate for a family audience.

What to bring–
The usual stuff you need at tournaments. There are food trucks scattered around campus for lunch or bring your own.

What about rain?-
We may not be able to give people much notice since we’ll be driving up that morning and won’t know the field conditions until we get there. Please provide me with one phone number for your club and I’ll call if we get rained out. I’ll rely on that person to inform the rest of your club

Bay Racers Indoor Games 2009 will be held on February 28 & March 1 at the Mare Island Sports Center in Vallejo, CA.

The club sent a “small” crew down to Irvine to attend our first tournament of the year. We ran three teams each day. The dogs (and handlers) ran extremely well; taking 2 first places and 1 second place each day.

I had the pleasure of captaining the debut our “A” team (Spinnakers): Harley, Tasha, Buster, and Kiza. While I don’t have the time sheets with me, I believe their best time was (around) 19.12. Not bad for the first tournament of the year.

Following the tournament, a majority of the club spent the next day having fun up the road at the Magic Kingdom. A fine way to cap off a great weekend!

Congratulations to new members Stacey and Michelle!

Our last tournament of the season was Operation Top Dog in Redding, CA. A small group attended, running three teams. Highlights of the weekend included Panda, Rory and Sasha earning their Flyball Master Excellent (FMX - 10K points) titles; and Buster and Tasha receiving their Flyball Grand Champion (FGDCh - 40K points) plaques.

Other exciting news include the debut of our junior handler (assisted by Auntie Stacey) and Joey and Annie gaining a new younger brother, Max.
